Notice about sharing the local trails. 1 Year, 1 Month ago
Forwarded from Alex Renner, of Baddlands;

Hi All.
Today I received an e-mail from the park ranger informing me that they had received some complaints about us on the trail.

I knew about these issues right after we finished our Intervals on the Chicken Farm course since someone left a note on my windshield. The complaint was while we were heading towards Cheney...not on the way back. The person complaining said that we do not share the trail. As I explained to the Ranger, this was unfounded since we always yell "to your left or right". We always make plenty of room for anyone we are passing etc. Evidently the person we passed was intimidated by the number of us (17) going by him/her at the legal speed. All that aside, we will not change this person mind nor do we intend to. I did explain the situation to the ranger and he accepted it. Since I was on this ride I know for a fact we had a low speed on the way out and we were polite to all.
End of deal!

Let's remember that we are a giant billboard and people know who we are. Lets be extra considerate while riding the trail, keep the speed down when passing and give them lots of room. When on the road..obey all stop signs (when you see cars in the country) and always in the city areas. DO NOT CROSS ON RED LIGHTS!!! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER!! (Except in Idaho where it is legal in the country)

Anyway.. all is cool now with us and the rangers. Lets keep it that way.

I couldn't agree more, Alex.

Another word to the wise: While on the trails stay as far right as possible. A) Lollygagging in the middle of the trail is a pain for riders coming up from behind. Even when you're hammering, stay out of the middle--there's always someone faster than you.
